Piping Plovers Part 2

from Rockaway Shuffle by Thomas Clarke

/

about

They're back! The cute but malevolent gangsta plovers from my 2014 song "Piping Plovers" are back in this followup tune which chronicles their exclusive nightclub, their seagull goons, their municipal graft, their legal system abuse, and their retaliations against local pigeons and humans.

lyrics

We're back!
Don't you know it?
We look cute, but don't mess with us
we're the piping plovers

We're back!
Don't you know it?
Get the lawyers ready
beacuse we're going to sue you!
Get the gull goons

Our club is doing fine
The seafood's nice and fresh
but you idiots will never join us in the club!
Get the gull goons

We look cute, but don't mess with us
we're the piping plovers

The pigeons stopped paying tribute,
so we got them evicted from their penthouse on Beach 116th Street!
They really shouldn't have taken that jacuzzi
so we sprayed them with catnip and let the alley cats do the rest!

Isn't it great to claim to be endangered
in case the cats get any weird ideas
Get the gull goons
Get the gull goons

Hey Rocco, nice cameo on that Seabreeze video

Hey, we need a new nesting ground
so let's condemn that mansion in Neponsit!

We look cute, but don't misjudge us!

We get 40 percent off the Boardwalk
And 10 grand for each day it's delayed

Life is great by the sea
If you know how to milk the system
And for those Rockaway humans who cross us
We'll get our Socialist buddies in Albany and Manhattan to make your life a living hell!

We look cute, but don't mess with us
we're the piping plovers

Get the gull goons

Don't mess with us!

all production, instrumentation, and lyrics by Thomas Clarke

This song was composed in Rockaway Park in February 2016 using Magix Music Maker Jam, Mixcraft Acoustica 6, and Spesoft Text to MP3 which does a great job of creating psychotic sounding shore bird vocals.
