Feeling Numb

from The Texas Album by Thomas Clarke

/

about

I spent 2 days completing this unique dance track in June 2016. The instrumentation includes 2 previously unreleased beat patterns I composed in 2012 and 2015 and a new chord variant on the 2014 Feel beat pattern. The lyrics are mostly from other songs I've done between 2013-2016, as well as a subway announcement and a choice vocal snippet of a speech from a certain famous distant cousin.

lyrics

What's wrong with you, you you?

Please stand clear
the doors are closing

It's not working
get it right and fix it

we are all children of God

seems fitting since we lost so much there, including our souls

The things which used to distress you will become inconsequential

maybe I didn't get the memo

we look cute, but don't mess with us

is it too much to ask?

e a bhriseadh síos (break it down)

help me to find my way

what does it feel like to not be outraged by legalized infanticide?

here we go again

what does it feel like to smoke your brain cells away?

am dunta (closing time)

seems fitting since we lost so much there, including our souls

it's not working, get it right and fix it

what does it feel like to actually act your age?

what does it feel like to keep a job for more than a year?

The voice of the people must be heard

aw yeah

what does it feel like to not oversleep?

aw yeah

I don't know, I don't know, I don't know, I don't know, I don't know, I don't know, I don't know, I don't know...
